MV Vehicular Storage Facility & Office

230 East 128th Street, Manhattan

Section of the building shows the vertical separation between a variety of functions, the ground floor largely inhabits parking and repair needs for the cars with two offices looking at the repair areas whereas the administrative sections of the building span the second and third floors comprising of individual offices, open seating areas for employees and several open offices, followed by a large passive outdoor recreation space that is located at the roof of the repair area, accessed through the third floor of the building.

An open storage is provided on the site at the North of the proposed building, with a 24 hydraulic vehicle stacker construction capable of storing 3 vehicles vertically, raising one above the other as they are parked and hydraulically lifted into place.

Large rectangular windows in contrast with the white, minimal mass and the selection of materials such as bare concrete, painted steel mesh and perforated metal cladding emphasize the industrial contemporary language of the design, while the layout creates optimum operating system for its users in respect to the existing neighboring structures.
